Video de perezosos ticos le da la vuelta al mundo

Un video de unos perezosos en Puerto Viejo de Limón se viralizó, esta mañana, luego de que National Geographic difundiera la publicación en su cuenta de Instagram.

El video fue elaborado por el fotógrafo italino Gabriele Galimberti, quien estuvo 2 días colaborando en el Centro de Rescate El Jaguar en el que se le brinda atención a diferentes animales los 365 días del año.

Galimberti se mostró fascinado con la meta del centro de rehabilitar animales y regresarlos a su hábitat. En cuestión de  3 horas, el video alcanzó cerca de un millón de reproducciones y más de 7 mil comentarios. 

"En 2 días, ayudé al equipo a rescatar dos perezosos recién nacidos y a un adulto que fueron encontrados en el bosque. Sin la ayuda del equipo, ellos pudieron haber muerto pronto. Tuve la suerte de sostener un perezoso en mi mano y alimentarlo con cuidado", comentó el fotógrafo que acostumbra a documentar historias por medio de retratos.

Según señala la publicación, Galimberti aseguró que meses después de visitar Costa Rica, se puso en contacto con los encargados del centro, quienes le aseguraron que los perezosos ya volvieron a su hogar en el bosque del Caribe tico.

This center is a temporary or permanent home for ill, injured and orphaned animals. The JRC provides veterinary services, 24/7 care and comfort to animals that would otherwise be unable to survive in the rainforest or the sea of the Caribbean. The goal of the JRC is to rehabilitate animals and reintroduce them back into their native habitats. Sloths, monkeys, birds, snakes and more are brought to the JRC, and treated by professional veterinarians, caregivers and a team of staff and volunteers. When they are healed and healthy, most animals are reintroduced to their native habitats to live out their lives in the land that is their home. In those two days I helped the team of JRC to rescue two newborn sloths and an adult one which were found alone in the forest. Without our help these animals would have been dead soon. I had the luck to hold a sloth in my hands and feed him with care.
